P1/2/3
It's been a busy first term here in P123. Our Primary 1s have got off to a flying start learning their phonics and have been working hard writing their sounds and beginning to use them to make words. P2s and 3s have been continuing to develop their reading and sentence building skills too through our Read Write Inc lessons.
We have had great fun learning about animals. We have learned how to look after pet animals, what a habitat is and how different habitats will have different food chains.
In numeracy we have learned about place value. For some of our children this has involved working with numbers up to 1000 and for our newest children it has involved learning to count and order numbers to 20.
All of our children worked together to develop a class charter and we have talked and read about friendship, honesty and responsibility. The class have settled down well together with lots of new friendships being made (and old friends enjoying time together too). We have very sensible P2s and 3s who are such good helpers with the younger children and now, as we near the end of the first term, our new children are such a part of our school that it feels like they have always been here.
